One of the more talked-about features in Internet Explorer 9 is the addition of Tracking Protection -- which is a bit of a re-tooling of IE8's InPrivate Filtering. Now that the IE9 RC is here, Tracking Protection is ready for you to test. All you need are some lists to subscribe to, and the know-how to plug them in to your browser.
First, head over to the Tracking Protection Lists page from Microsoft. A handful recognizable names are already listed, including TRUSTe and EasyList -- maintainers of the EasyPrivacy list you may be using in AdBlock on another browser.
Now, click Add TPL next to the provider you want to subscribe (we're going with EasyList alone, but it's OK to add multiple subscriptions). Confirm the pop-up window by clicking Add List, and you're done. It's that simple!
To manage your existing Tracking Protection List subscriptions, click the gear icon in the top-right corner of IE9, mouse over safety, and then click Tracking Protection Lists. You can then disable or remove active lists, or use the personal list to add your own custom blocking rules.
